Understanding Fragrance Notes

Every fragrance tells a story in layers.
As your wax melt warms, these layers unfold gradually to create a full scent journey. Perfumers describe them as top notes, heart notes, and base notes. Each one plays a part in shaping the overall experience.

🌿 Top Notes

The first impression. Light and fresh, these are the scents you notice as soon as the wax begins to melt. They’re bright and uplifting, often citrusy, herbal, or softly floral. They fade quickly but are essential in setting the mood.

Examples: bergamot, lemon, lemongrass, green apple, mint

🌿 Heart Notes (Middle Notes)

The heart of the fragrance. These appear as the top notes fade and form the main body of the scent. Often floral, fruity, or gently spiced, they connect the bright opening with the deeper base notes.
Examples: rose, jasmine, cinnamon, lavender, cherry

🌿 Base Notes

The foundation of the fragrance. They take longer to develop but last the longest, adding warmth, depth, and richness. These are the scents that linger in the air even after the melt has cooled.

Examples: vanilla, amber, sandalwood, musk, patchouli

Together, these three layers create a complete fragrance journey — the bright beginning, the evolving middle, and the soft, lasting finish.
