At Casa De Lumière, sustainability isn’t an afterthought.
It’s at the heart of everything we do. From the ingredients in our melts and candles to the packaging that reaches your doorstep, we’re committed to creating eco-luxury products that tread lightly on the planet.

What We Use

Wax Blend

We use a sustainable blend of rapeseed and coconut wax. It’s a natural, renewable alternative to paraffin and soy, offering a cleaner burn and a longer-lasting fragrance.

Fragrance Oils

Our fragrances are sourced from trusted suppliers here in the UK and are fully compliant with IFRA standards. We only choose oils that meet strict safety and quality guidelines.

Packaging

Plastic-Free: Our melts are wrapped in unbleached brown paper or kraft tissue, then placed inside recyclable kraft boxes.

Reusable: Clamshells are used only for moulding and then reused in our process to minimise waste.

Postal Protection: All gift sets are layered with recyclable filler and packed in protective kraft postal boxes.

Optional Gift Wrapping: Eco-friendly kraft ribbon and tags are available to add a thoughtful finishing touch.

What We Avoid

Paraffin Wax

Paraffin is derived from petroleum. It’s cheap to produce but comes at a cost to both the environment and indoor air quality. It can release soot and toxins when burned, which is why we’ve chosen a cleaner, renewable alternative with our rapeseed and coconut wax blend.

Palm Oil

Palm oil is widely used in cosmetics and candles but is often linked to deforestation, habitat loss, and harm to biodiversity. To protect forests and wildlife, we avoid palm oil entirely and work only with responsibly sourced oils and waxes.

Single-Use Plastics

Plastic packaging made for one-time use often ends up in landfill or pollutes our oceans. We’ve eliminated single-use plastics wherever possible, choosing kraft paper wrapping and recyclable or reusable packaging instead.

Excess Packaging

Layers of glossy wraps or non-recyclable finishes may look appealing but create unnecessary waste. We keep our packaging simple, practical, and recyclable, focusing on designs that protect your products while caring for the planet.
